The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a real adventure from the very beginning to the very end.
You just need to be between the ages of 14 and 24. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from. Just as long as you realize there is more you can do with life than sitting on the sofa. You can do programmes at three levels, Bronze, Silver or Gold, which lead to a DofE Award. The best bit about the DofE is you get to choose what you would like to do the award in.
For achieving DofE awards you will complete four activities sections in a Physical (e.g. canoeing/kayaking), Skill (e.g. playing an instrument), voluntary (e.g. helping the community), Expedition (a planned trip with a camp-out) with gold you will have to complete a fifth sections in a residential (e.g. sailing a tall ship).
